Coava Coffee Roasters is a specialty coffee company based in Oregon that is known for its high-quality single origin coffee. The original website has confusing navigations, and the redesign of the website focused on creating a more engaging and modern e-commerce experience that better reflects the brand’s identity.
One of the main challenges of this project was redesigning the website entirely while still staying true to the already existing brand. The new design needed to feel refreshed but also consistent with the company’s visual language. Another challenge was balancing this visual storytelling with full functionality.
The research focused on firstly understanding Coava as a brand, meaning its history, values, products, and visual identity. Secondly, research was conducted regarding the existing website and its user flows and needs for improvement. Some functions were confusing or broken, and the visuals lacked emphasis on the overall identity.
